The Role: 

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Housing Support Worker to join our team in Swansea. Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Providing practical and emotional support to individuals experiencing housing difficulties. 
  • Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify individuals’ needs and develop personalised support plans. 
  • Collaborating with local housing providers, social services, and other relevant organisations to access suitable housing options. 
  • Assisting individuals in navigating the housing application process, providing guidance and advocacy as needed. 
  • Offering advice and support on budgeting, tenancy sustainment, and independent living skills to promote long-term stability. 
  • Providing crisis intervention and support in situations such as eviction, substance abuse, mental health issues, or domestic violence. 
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions and progress. 
  • Working closely with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure coordinated and holistic support for individuals.

Job Requirements: 

  • Previous experience as a Housing Support Worker or in a related role (minimum 6 months)
  • Strong understanding of the housing challenges faced by vulnerable populations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients 
  • Knowledge of local housing policies, resources, and support services in Swansea 
  • Empathy, patience, and resilience in working with individuals facing complex needs 
  •                                                                                                                                           Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
