The Role: 

We are seeking dedicated Children Support Workers to join a residential home in Cardiff, providing care and support to children in a nurturing and safe environment. As a Children Support Worker, your responsibilities will include: 

  • Providing person-centred care and support to children in the residential home, including those with challenging behaviour 
  • Assisting with daily activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and educational support 
  • Creating a supportive and stimulating environment for children to thrive 
  • Building positive relationships with children and promoting their emotional well-being 
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the holistic development of children 
  • Managing challenging behaviour through effective communication and de-escalation techniques 
  • Maintaining accurate records and reporting any concerns to senior staff
  • Working flexibly within rostered hours, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts as required 

Job Requirements: 

  • Previous experience working as a Support Worker with children, especially those with challenging behaviour (minimum 6 months) 
  • Right to work in the UK 
  • 3 checkable references 
  • Valid UK driving licence (preferred but not essential) 
  • Key Skills: Compassion, Patience, Effective Communication, Empathy, Managing Challenging Behaviour
